Managing Partner Conveyancing and Private Client
Kim, who is originally from Hull, qualified as a Solicitor in 1984 after studying at Northumbria University.
As a newly qualified solicitor he worked with a Washington based firm before transferring to a County Durham firm where he became a Partner, managing their Durham office before joining Hannays Solicitors and Advocates in 2004.
Following restructuring of the partnership during 2011-2012 he was appointed Managing Partner. His capable management safely steered the firm through the restructuring. He has successfully met the strategic challenges brought about by the changes in legal aid funding and other legislation that has affected many firms of solicitors in recent years.
Under his management the firm attained LEXCEL accreditation in 2012 and has been a member of the Law Society Quality Conveyancing Scheme since 2013.
Kim’s earlier career was in defence medical negligence where he was commended in the Legal 500, but he later turned to private client work. He now focuses on conveyancing (domestic and commercial), leases, will, trusts and probate, elderly client services, Court of Protection and the management of the firm. Kim was also appointed as the firm’s Compliance Officer for Legal Practice in 2013.
