Claim a Power of Attorney Refund

You can get part of your application fee back if you applied to register a power of attorney from 1 April 2013 to 31 March 2017.

We can’t claim on your behalf, even if we helped you by drawing up the Power of Attorney or Enduring Power of Attorney as you must do it directly but the claims process is very simple and easy to do online.

Claims refunds apply to lasting powers of attorney (LPA) and enduring powers of attorney (EPA).

You must claim your refund by 1 February 2021.

You’ll get half the refund if you paid a reduced fee (‘remission’).

Before you claim you’ll need:

  • the donor’s UK bank account number and sort code
  • a copy of the LPA (if you have it)
