Leeanne Pearce LL.B

Leeanne has worked with our firm since 2009.  She specialises in Family Law and is supervised by Gill Wright who is a Partner with this firm.

Leeanne began her career in law as a legal secretary in 2001 and soon decided that a career as a Chartered Legal Executive was the best way forward. She gained her qualifications at another local firm before moving to Hannays Solicitors and Advocates.

She attained Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2010, and then went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at De Montfort University in Leicester. On completion of these qualifications and the requirements set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, Leeanne qualified as a Solicitor in December 2020 and as a Solicitor Advocate in 2021.

In January 2024 Leeanne became an accredited member of the Law Society Children Panel.

What is the Children Law Accreditation

The Children Law Accreditation is a quality mark set by The Law Society for practitioners who represent children in children’s law proceedings and is recognised by the Legal Aid Agency.

To become an accredited member, applicants must demonstrate that they have:

  • personally conducted cases and represented parties in children proceedings
  • carried out advocacy for clients
  • a thorough awareness of ethical issues that can arise in children cases
  • an up-to-date knowledge of guidance, legislation, case law and practice developments
  • the ability to work directly with children, explore their competence and understand their wishes and feelings

Applicants are also expected to meet the standards of practice and conduct outlined in the Code of Practice for Children Law.

To qualify for this prestigious accreditation, a solicitor must complete a training course, submit a detailed application demonstrating that they meet the strict criteria and attend a face-to-face assessment. If successful, the accreditation lasts for three years.

Leeanne has always had a keen interest in Family Law, particularly law relating to children.  She specialises in and deals with all family matters including divorce and finances as well as both public and private law children cases. She has a down to earth practical approach and will always give an honest opinion. Leeanne is local to South Shields and has a knowledge of the area which can sometimes assist in making client’s feel more at ease.

Leeanne is a member of Resolution – Resolution members follow a code of practice promoting a non-confrontational approach to family problems, whilst also taking on board the specific needs of the client and the best interests of the children.
